Curator: Anna Andlauer, Heimatverein Indersdorf; Supported by the German Foreign Office
The Opening of the exhibition will be held on January 20, 2019, at 18:00 at the Sourasky Central Library's Lobby
The exhibition, which contains 30 banners of the photos and two documentary films (in Hebrew), presents the International and Jewish Children's centers at Kloster Indersdorf. During the first year after liberation (July 1945 – July 1946) a team of UN pioneers, along with Catholic nuns and adult displaced persons provided 613 Jewish and gentile children with a home and a therapeutic environment which enabled them to forge a new future despite their traumatic past. From July 1946 – September 1948, Dror (a Zionist movement) together with a UN team worked in the Jewish Children's center, organized school, social activity and prepared the children for their future life on a kibbutz in Erez Israel.
