Using our multifunctional printers one can copy, print and scan documents. The printer service is subject to a fee payable by credit card or a special magnetic card that may be purchased and recharged at a machine located next to the lobby attendant.

The printer services are provided by the Mafil company.

 

 

  • Print

    • You may print documents using either the duplex or one-sided printing mode.
    • For color printing please use the laser printer located at the entrance floor.

     

     

    Where do I find a printer?

    • Entrance floor: Three black and white printers (two of them for duplex printing and one for one-sided printing), one color printer and one multifunctional printer*. 
       
    • First floor:  Three multifunctional printers*
    • Second floor:  Two multifunctional printers*, and one black and white printer
    • Copy room at the Bottom floor: Five multifunctional printers​
      *The printers/copiers enable copying, printing, scanning 

     

    How do I send a printing job to the printer?

    Sending a printing job to the black & white printer sends the job to all library printers.
     

    • A pop-up window will ask for your ID Card number – this number will be required to identify your printing job(s) on the printer's server. (Instead of your ID Card number you can type a 9 digit identifying number)
    • To extract the printing job(s) from any of the multifunctional printers choose the PRINT option, and mark your identifying number on the list.
    • Insert your printing card, or pass your credit card through the device next to the printer.
    • Choose the printing job(s) you wish to print and click the PRINT tab.
    • To extract the printing job(s) from one of the entrance floor printers (or from the printer on the 2nd floor) - insert your printing card or pass your credit card through the device next to the printer.
    • Type your identifying number on the server and choose the printing job(s) you wish to print.


    Color Printing


    ​A Color Printer is located at the entrance floor. One should send the printing job(s) to the color printer and extract it/them from that specific printer.

     

    Please do not forget to do the following:

    •  Press the "End job" (written in Hebrew), after the job(s) is/are printed.
    • .Retrieve your magnetic card from the card reader.

  • Mobile Printing

    Mobile Print, which is fee based (pay at the printer), enables us to send documents to the public printers at Tel Aviv University:

    • From any work environment (Windows, MAC OS, UNIX/Linux, IOS, Android)
    • From any device (PC, MAC, Laptop, Smartphone, Tablet)
    • From anywhere (on campus, through WiFi or off campus, through Internet)

     

    The print is performed by sending an email message with attached files in the common formats (graphic files such as tif, png, JPEG; PDF files, Office files, etc.) to one of the following addresses:

                    a4s@print.tau.ac.il – for a one side A4 black and white print

                    a4d@print.tau.ac.il – for a double sided A4 black and white print

                    a3s@print.tau.ac.il – for a one side A3 black and white print *

                    a3d@print.tau.ac.il – for a double sided A3 black and white print *

                    a4color@print.tau.ac.il – for a one side A4 color print

                   

    The subject of the email has to be the sender’s ID number in order to identify him/her.
    The files that were attached in the email message can be printed (for fee) at any public printer at Tel Aviv University, following self-identification.
    In order to identify oneself, the sender’s ID number has to be entered in the LCD panel of the device which is next to the printer. All the print jobs of the sender will be displayed.


     

    How do I send a print job?

     

    1. Create an email message addressed to one of the options/adress (see the list above), with your ID number as the subject:

                  

    2. Attach the file(s) to be printed.

     

    3. Send the message.

    How do I send a print job?

    4.Go to one of the public (fee based) printers. Insert a credit card or a printing card to the device which is next to the printer. Enter your ID number. Choose the job from the list of the waiting print jobs and click on the printer icon.

     

  • Copy and Scan

    Where do I find a printer/copier?
         

    • Entrance floor: Three black and white printers (two of them for duplex printing and one for one-sided printing), one color printer and one multifunctional printer*. 
    • First floor:  Three multifunctional printers* 
    • Second floor:  Two multifunctional printers*, and one black and white printer
    • Copy room at the Bottom floor: Five multifunctional printers
      *The printers/copiers enable copying, printing, scanning

       
    • Choose the multifunctional printer's  COPY / SCAN option to copy / scan.
    • ​Insert your printing card or pass your credit card through the device next to the multifunctional printer and perform the copy/scan action.

      *Do not forget to press the "End job" (written in Hebrew), after the job(s) is/are finished.
       
    •  Scanned files can be sent to your e-mail address or saved on your mobile storage device (USB).

     


    Copy/print microfilmed data

    • Copies/printouts of microfilmed material may be ordered (and paid for) at the newspaper/microfilm reading hall.

    • Charging copy/print jobs of microfilmed material to your research budget is only possible for orders over 20 NIS.
